Syke crows insistently and pulls at her lip again.
"He is still boss...and an ice wolf has been sent this way for scouting..." more crowing, "Syke says something is wrong with him though. Maybe ill. Should we see him, we can easily take him down."

The gears within Ursus's mind crank and churn as he follow's MoonSong. He makes a note to himself that he must check the one approaching them, dead or alive, for signs of The Plague Barer. Knowing it's unlikely he keeps this to himself as he wishes not to place fear into their hearts, especially with the task ahead. Should it be her work, he will deal with it personally. It then occurs to Ursus, he's had Ravens. He's telepathic. Why not talk to Syke? Fear not, its just me, Ursus. Are there dead that still walk ahead of us? Or fungi on corpses?

The blackbird had been resting comfortably when he was disturbed by an intruding voice. His head lifts from where it was tucked between his wing. He looks at the void colored wolf. "Foolish cub," he says and starts preening himself. "Red kills sick. Sick, blood from jaws." is all he says in broken language.

Ursus can't help but be a bit relieved that it truly has nothing to do with The Plague Barer. Sick, blood from jaws though? Odd. Perhaps rabies? Ursus clears his throat to get MoonSong's attention. "Syke says Red kills sick. Sick, blood from jaws." To me this says whomever it is, is potentially carrying rabies from having bit too many things and has become feral and its being weaponized. Though something tells me that's not it. It may just be as easy as they have killed enough that they are sick in the head."

"hmmm." She had grown up with Syke's strange speech pattern. "He's saying they are coughing up blood. I don't know what disease they have but I don't want any of us sinking our fangs into an infected wolf." she frowns. A blade can do the job for them, but she would need to find one...and a piece of hide to create a holder.

Ursus face palms. "Oh. That makes more sense. Coughing blood.... Hey... They passed human lands right? Tuberculosis is HIGHLY infectious and it does that, it's often times lethal if not handled right. Your idea may work, or... I we can use some of our magical capacities to fry them at a distance maybe? That or I can attempt to heal them. It doesn't matter if I get sick. If I even can at this point."

"I want them dead" MoonSongs eyes flash as she growls the words and continues to trot in silence. They follow the river for some time before breaking away from it and heading NorthWest through open fields. Moonsong comes to a halt, and her tunnel vision is gone as she snaps out of it and sees the sun is beginning to set. " I think we can rest here," she says to the others and her legs slide out in front of her to lay down.

Ursus nods in agreement with the assessment of the area. "I'll take first watch. Get as much rest as you all can." Ursus casts his watchful eyes over everyone.
