Meeting Nova

Nova began towards the trees looking around them often. Her wings dragged slightly as she lowered her head.

Nova looked back to Ursus. She looked over their surroundings before settled down on her stomach and chest. Nova folded her wings over the pile of elk she brought after letting their limp bodies slide from her grip. Dipped her head into the area her wings covered she began to eat. Her scales adjusted up slightly, her fur peaked out. She tore an elk in half then gulped down one half. Then the other. She had one half on another elk so she ate that too. Nova slid her wings back and tossed an elk into the air. She caught it in her month crushing down onto it and looked at the 2 elk left. She placed her legs on their side making her roll slightly. She then gently tossed the last 2 elk towards Ursus before laying her wings down and laying her head on one. She was looking at Ursus as she did this before closing her eyes with a deep exhale letting her scales flare up which sent her bright sliver fur free covering the scales over her body aside from her face and snout plus the end of her tail.

Nova lifts her head as the scales press down slightly. She looks to her back as the scales flatten hiding the fur once again. “My hide is actually extremely thin compared to most dragons. My fur acts as heater because my species is usually in high mountains. Because of how we are fights are extremely common so if our scales are torn off our fur grows freakishly fast to give some warmth to prevent freezing” Nova paused letting her scales lift again as she nosed a spot under her wing through the fur showing a light scar. “And when the fur doesn’t grow fast enough and we get into a fight we will just become further injured. Our fur also is somewhat like oily” Nova tore off the leg of a elk and let the blood drip onto her fur as it gently rolled off leaving nothing behind. She let her scales fall again making it seem as if the fur was never there. “Sometimes the fur can be a way to tell ones mood. Depending on how much of it is showing. Males will use it in fights to show off and to attract females” She rested her head down once again. Her tail moved to her other side as her scales lifted ever so slightly. “You would have to ask another Ryxin if it’s full uses I’m not so sure...”

“Yeah I hadn’t either” Nova chuckled softly. “It is thick just strange. Definitely not made for combat” Nova paused as she looked to the side. “I’ve never been around other Ryxin as far as I know. I’ve never spent time with dragons at all actually. Since I hatched I was in a cold dark place of stone and when I got out I didn’t know what to do or where to go”

“I guess it was like a cave but flat on ever side and yes you would be the first...” Nova let a breath out

Nova chuckled softly allowing her scales to life gently to her movements. “Not at all”
