Ursus's ears twitch as the water splashes and he quickly turns and playfully nips her ear. I considered seeing if your feet were frozen if that would keep you from being able to leave but I decided that was cruel.

Moon walks away to grab a thick fallen branch and stands in the center of the ring, holding the branch sideways in her mouth.
"Do any of you know how to fight using spears?"
If the lycan disease is spread through fluids they cant bite them. "Other than magic, these should work as an alternative to fangs should we encounter more lycans."
If the alpha is who she thinks it is then he has experience using such items and will use it before his fangs.

"Yes. My brothers and I found some old ruins where there were these things buried all over the floor. Through a lot of injuries and mistakes we learned how to use em." She smiles and motioned her head to move. "Get a branch then. Not too big and u want to hold it in its sweet spot. Balance."
Memories flooded her of when she would show the apprentices how to use sticks as spears for training. "Rip off a branch. Use the sharp part. Be sure to find your balance"
Theres a glint in her eyes as they grab branches and arand in the ring. Let the training begin.

(To MoonSong only) While this is an inspired idea, something has occurred to me. Because we lack thumbs it is much harder for us to parry a incoming strike yes? Even more so when one only has an afternoon of training. While I think we should follow through with the training, I think it may be wise to not engage in spear vs spear combat. Especially if the Lycans are wielding spears. However, if they aren't this could really turn the tides in our favor. I am thinking if we encounter foes with spears, magical bombardment or perhaps me just using a bigger stick then them is what it will take to get through it. Unless we want to dig out some pitfalls and other traps.

"Correct. We do not want to engage with only one afternoon of training. Parry is more difficult, and honestly, I avoid a parry if possible, but I want ya'll to at least be aware of how to use them, should the need arise. If we manage to sneak up on a lycan, or another wolf, a spear through his head will kill fast and easy. You feel me?"
She adjusts the branch in her mouth. She's ready to teach by action.
"I don't really remember the landscape. When we are near, we shall see of making traps ourselves."

Aelin yawns, padding over to a nice size fallen limb. She picks it up gingerly, holding it in the center so the tool is nicely balanced.

Good. Moon stands in an attack stance. "I am a wolf of Darius' pack." she starts, setting up a scenario not realizing she said the alphas name. "I am an elite fighter and you have managed to single me out."
"Think of the spear as an attachment of yourself when fighting." she makes a swiping motion with the branch. "the goal is to drive the sharp end into the head or chest of your enemy." MoonSong locks eyes with Ursus first and swiftly charges him, turning her body slightly to the side so that the sharp end was at his face. "turn your body to accommodate should you need to. That's where the power behind your strikes lies, not in your neck."
She then walks down to Aelin and she tilts her head to tap her stick against her own.
