Life constantly on the move as a pack of 3 wolves, and with one of them crippled, was hard. However, life here in the Glacier Peak pack was definitely harder.
When they had first arrived to the Glacier pack, they came exhausted and begging for temporary stay. The pack was surprisingly low on other wolves, but there was still enough that they surrounded the siblings, who growled back in a defensive circle. Watching each others backs. Their alpha was a very large wolf black wolf with reddish brown on his face and legs. He looked at the yearlings with hard amber eyes. He says to them, “We do not sanction weak wolves. Only the strongest are allowed to stay and live.”
To prove themselves he takes them to an arena pit. Darius fought first and viciously, nearly killing the opponent. Reine was next and was more crafty in her fighting, blinding the opponent with the dirt and attacking his legs, using her small size to her advantage.
The alpha was very impressed with the two of them.
Finally was Jae. Even though he was missing his right foreleg, they forced him to fight. He lost. He was nothing to the alpha now, who orders Jae to be banished. Reine and Darius snarl st the wolves who tried to get close to the youngest brother, who whimpered timidly. “if he leaves, then we leave.”
The pack was in desperate need of new strong wolves, so he reluctantly accepts their deal, however that doesn’t stop them from using Jae as a punching bag. The cowards choose to assault Jae whenever Reine and Darius are not around to help him.
Quickly they turned two and were having just about as much as they could stand in this pack. Rules were strict. Yes sir, no sir, i don't know sir. Be in bed at moon rise. Wake no later than when the sun peaks over the horizon. Only select females are allowed to breed. Males are not allowed to be in contact of breeder females unless given permission by the Alpha. Reine was sick of it and by the way Darius has been acting out, he is too.
From her guard position, Reine glances at the Alpha pair laizing comfortable upon their throne, a flat-top boulder that overlooks the den site. She grimaces, and a plan begins to form.

The pack is fast asleep as the waning crescent moon providing little light in the cloudy sky. From her den, Reine awakes. She looks to her sleeping brothers beside her, then walks out. If she fails she will never see them again.
Her steps were quiet as she made a beeline to the Alpha den, an opening into the mountain with a nice view of the horizon. She stands in the entrance; glowing green eyes glaring at the sleeping bodies. She doesn't look when she feels the presence of another wolf walk behind her. She recognizes his steps. Darius now stands beside her, giving her a look that says "after you.”
Clouds cover the crescent moon as if to cover its eyes from what its children were about to do. In the darkness she steps in, Darius following in sync beside her. Quick and soundless, blood was spilled that night.

The following morning the pack wakes to find their alphas dead and a new pair sitting upon the throne. A trio. “We are your new leaders.” says the big red one. “anyone who objects can leave freely right now.”
No wolf moves. They stand there in shock. Had they killed the old leaders? The white and red ones stare down at them with hard stares, but the grey one sits a bit away from them less dominant. A growl from the center grabs their attention.
“This is blasphemy! Do you think you can get away will assassinating the old leaders?!” snarls a guard wolf.
“yes.” smirks the red one. “is that a problem?” he asks with a scary grin and his voice went deeper. The opposing guard seemed to have lost his nerve as his tail lowers and he whimpers in submission. “anyone else?”
No objections.
“good.”
And this started the new Glacier Peak pack. Nearly immediately Reine got rid of breeding females, allowing freedom to choose a mate. They changed the feeding, so that everyone gets equal. The arena was no longer used for life and death, but now as for training of deputies and apprentices as the pack began to grow. However not everyone was willing to follow the new leader for long. There were whispers of treason. A planned murder of the Snow queen and the Red thorn king.
These things were quickly put out by Reine as she would silently kill them under the cover of night and drag their bodies to the cave lions territory, where the body won't ever be seen again. Other times she would have them eat poison, unbeknownst to them. She would even lead them down traps, dangerous areas where they say they have died from their own faults.
Darius seemed to be enjoying his role as alpha, and Jae had grown more of a backbone. Reine however, was growing bored of the killing and waking up to do the same things. As she look out from the den she thought about their sisters and parents. Still the question haunted her, “where were we running to? Why were we running?”
She wanted to know.
A few days after her decision Reine stands on the other side of the territory border, bidding goodbye to her brothers. Her last family. “I'm leaving you in charge, Darius. Be careful.”
“I'm going to miss your singing, MoonSong.”
She smiles and lightly shoves him. “and I'll miss your hard headedness!”
She bids them farewell and continues her parents journey, taking up MoonSong as her name, as she runs East toward new land.
