Cascade stared at his mother unable to understand why she was upset. He followed her gaze to the far off mountains to the west of them and wondered why they seemed to important to his mother. "m-mom are you okay?" Cascade asked in his slightly high pitched voice. "im fine Cas. we need to keep moving before it gets dark. Cascade opened up his wings and looked at his mother hopefully. "Alright!" his mother said nuzzling him. "We can fly." Just as the dark female said that she bolted in the sky not turning to make sure Cas kept up with her. He caught up quickly his large wings carrying him on the wind.
the 2 wolves ran almost at the same pace fear rising in both of them. The younger wolf glanced over his shoulder and sped his pace up quickly. He looked back at the female who was having trouble keeping up with the younger wolf. The male looked forward again without a slowing or going faster he searched for a passage that would lose the wild dragon behind them. A sudden yelp of terror made the male stop. throwing himself sideways he scrambled up to see the wild dragons claws slice down the females stomach. Filled with fright and horror, the male turned and raced back along the trail eventually losing the dragon and his mother.
Cascade moved the large boulders with his head and paws. 'No no no! they cant be dead!' Cascade thought helplessly. He had just seen this, a pile of rocks over a valley filled with the very faint sent that Shadow, Harper, Jasper and his mother. He finally gave up and after sitting at the boulder pile, his eyes red and blood shot from crying, he fell asleep on the massive grave of many. His hope of finding his old pack and returning to them, became a distant memory among his ancestors, his mother, his brothers Bark and Rabbit, his father, and so many more wolves. He could not bring the dead back t life and Cascade was not ready to face it. All his hope in an instant was gone.
