Ursus stops too and turns to Aelin with a concerned look. I'm not sure what you mean. You don't deserve to be tortured. Since it's a memory, we can find one's to help keep you feeling calm, it may not totally prevent you from seeing that memory but it may decrease the frequency. A good nights sleep every now and then would do you some good.

Ursus begins leading them once more, the shimmer of the moon against the water behind them fading as the slip into a mountain pass. So... What happened before we met? You don't have to share if you don't want but, I'd like to understand you, to know you better if I can.

She gives a soft sigh, staying quiet for several minutes before finally replying. “When I was a pup.. my um.. parents, didn’t want me due to my.. deafness, and I was left in the woods. Eventually I was found by Kijian and his pack. I grew up there. Kijian and I became mates.” She paused for a moment, searching for the words to continue. “Anyways, we were expecting pups when everything went to hell. We were sitting together, like usual, when a rouge group of wolves came to our land. Their “alpha” challenged Kijian...” she stops again, having difficulty continuing her tale.

Ursus leans down and sets his head along side Aelin's shoulder as she tells her tragedy. And the worst came to pass. I am terribly sorry, Aelin. I guess this is why you once told me we aren't so different. Thank you for sharing, I know that's not easy.

I don't have to. I'm working on something. I hope one day, sooner than later, it will be done. There's a reason this land is still untouched by evil, thing's that once kept it safe. Passive things. As long as we stay here once it's done, we are safe. I shouldn't be underestimated either though. It is a simple feat for me to buy time. You'll understand what I mean by that too, eventually.

I do! The only reason I haven't mentioned it before is I'm still not ready to announce it to everyone. Follow me if you would please. Ursus continues onwards through the pass. Upon reaching the other side are more mountains, wooded with spruce trees. Here we are. The cave is in this area too, which leads me to believe resources we pulled from it to make this grid I'm about to show you. I'll take you to the cave as we leave. Ursus strolls on up to the mountain before them, and about a third of the way up he stops. Now this is where it gets a little odd so just... Bare with me a moment ok? Ursus wraps his tail around Aelins. You will not be able to see anything for a moment, so stay in contact with me. Ready?

Ursus leads the pair forwards, straight through what would appear to the eye as the mountain side, feet finding soft soil and moss rather than stone. Darkness takes them for what feels like a life time, before site suddenly returns to them. In the new place they stand, there are carvings in a language a normal wolf wouldn't know (unless you have a human knowledge score of 8) and complex diagrams paired with grids of dim crystals. Off in one corner one set glows a faint calming teal color that pulsates and shifts with golds and purples. And this bit of madness is what I search for clues for when I can. I understand some of the language here but not all the diagrams. We have complex magic going on here, the crystals are doing an automated ritual basically. The only functioning grid is that far one that glows as you may have guessed. It's what the crystals we take back to the dens get synced to. And as you can see, that's only a tiny portion of what is here.
