The cold gnaws, as if starved, at Eagle , a wolf new to these parts. As the winds rage and the clouds become ominous, one thing becomes clear. Shelter. Shelter is what you seek. Food and water will have to come later. Will you survive the harsh forces of nature that are bound to these rugged lands, and make a new home? Or will your corpse fester in the next days sun?
Eagle’s teeth begin to chatter, her body shivers as she notices the weather take a drastic turn for the worse. Her eyes squint from the hard winds that whip by her, they only make the cold worst. No matter how much she wishes to move forward, her body does not match her mind’s determination. Her pace becomes slower and her steps become weak as her body starts to give out on her. However, she pushes forward until she catches a glance of a large tree. Her body stumbles to it, just as it starts to rain, hard. The dirt now turns to mud as she makes her way towards it, covering her paws as she finally reaches it. The branches provide a minimum amount of shelter. She looks down at the roots of the trees to find a small hole in between the large oak roots. Her small frame allows her to squeeze into it, providing a perfect harbor from the storm brewing above the ground. It provides protection from the cold, as well as the wind which nipped at her constantly before getting into the hole. She looks around the hole, it is constricting but better than nothing. Her curly pelt, now soaking wet, has droplets of water drip to the dry ground below her. She shakes violently to dry herself, which works well. She begins to realize that the storm will be there for awhile so she tries her best to get comfortable in the small space. Grunting from the uncomfortable, and uneven roots below her, she shifts until she gives up on the idea of comfort. She begins to yawn as her body tells her to rest while the storm rages on, she will need the energy after it is gone.

Ursüs passes the trees of his home that he’s grown so familiar with, each singing him songs of warning as he heads out into the border lands. As he passes out of his territory, he looks back to his home and reminds himself why he must make this treacherous journey. To protect our new home, friends and family. The sky rumbles and darkens unexpectedly, catching Ursüs’s attention. “Another ill omen.” He whispers to himself as he presses further in, searching for clues of mischief. The near ice, frigid rain pelts Ursüs and his bulky form with a vengeance, but he is unphased by the weather. The winds gusts bring to him a plethora of scents... no trouble this time, but there is one thing. A female wolf, perhaps? As there is a dire need of info and the strangers life could be at risk, Ursüs goes seeking for their whereabouts.
Eagle grumbles to herself from her discomfort. Along with the roots under her body, her stomach rumbled as it hadn't been fed within days. She listens to the storm above, listening to the rain pouring down to keep her attention away from her dire situation. Her pelt -dry but damp- had clung to her body, once again adding to her discomfort. She shifted constantly, trying to somehow push away the inconveniences by moving about. It was no use. She huffed with exasperation. Just then, the pouring turned into a drizzle. She sat up in the small space, sticking her head out of the hole just enough to see the surroundings around her. It felt nice for her to not be constricted by the hole, even if it was just her head above ground. She breathed a deep sigh of relief. The pouring started again, but she lingered there a little longer. Relishing the air before retreating back into the tight hole.

With snout to the ground and eyes ever vigilant, Ursus obtains a trail, as foot prints lead him towards a grand, elder oak tree. Before getting too close he lays down, attempting to not look threatening. "Hello? Is any one there? It's dangerous to be out and about in this kind of weather. I will be happy to trade a safe warm place to sleep and food for information." He inquires in his deep rumbling voice. Should Eagle look out, she would see him. The large wolf thing with a deep dark fur with no gloss or shine to it, highlighted with some grey's (and a fluffy grey mane) and white markings. His eyes are a dark blue and emit a soft glow. Claws longer and sharper than a wolves should be, and his teeth are bladed much akin to a sharks teeth paired with canine fangs and tusks. He also has four large horns, two that come down and protect the throat and two that go back and protect the neck. He looks a bit odd, but still smells a bit like a grey wolf.
Eagle jumped out of her skin at first, she had not expected for anyone to be above where she was sheltering. Her mind raced for several moments, thinking of how to approach this. It had been months since she had come into contact with any other wolf, and she was determined not to let this chance slip. She poked her head out slowly, sticking her muzzle in the air to sniff around before meeting eyes with the brute. She leaped out of her hole to face the strange looking wolf. Her head tilted slightly out of confusion but paid no mind to his unusual horns. "Hello" She said in a confident tone but her curly pelt stuck to her body so she looked much more like a wet rat than a wolf. "What informatiom do you seek?" She asked in a questioning tone.

Ursüs flashes a grin with the railroad of terror his teeth are as the stranger steps out of her hiding place. “I wish to know a few things... Firstly, what direction did you come from? In your travels, were there signs of famine, blight or pestilence? Did you see fungi growing on any corpses or seemingly living things? There are no right or wrong answers here. No illusions or tricks. These are simply things I must know.”
"I came a lone ways from the south-east." Her tail swished back and forth lightly. "And for the second question.." She paused. She flicked her ear -she does this often when thinking deeply-, her eyes wavered as she replayed the past few days in her mind. Her ears pricked up as she remembered something from several nights ago. "Indeed, I did" She barked. She did not come across much animals in her travels, but when she did they were often starving. "A few suns ago I came across a fox -nothing but skin and bones, that thing- it had patches of fungi growing on it's back." Her eyes wandered in order to recall anything else. "I haven't seen anything else" She barked silently. "If I might ask," A curious spark appeared in her green-amber eyes. "Why are you asking?"

Darkness settles over Ursus's brow as he sighs and lays there silent for a moment. With a deep breath he settles himself and his appearance once more and looks up to the much smaller female. "I ask because I seek to keep my home safe. Those are signs of bad times upon us before too long. Do you know the legend of The Plague Barer? Because its true, every last word of it. Have you any more questions? If not, I have a promise to uphold to you." Ursus slowly stands and shakes out his coat as he waits politely for a response.
Eagle nods as he talks, somewhat surprised by his remark that the story is true, but does not question its realism. "Yes I do have another question." She paused and swayed her tail back and forth. "What's your name?" She asked politely, knowing that they haven't exchanged them yet. She smiled lightly at the brute, before getting up with him, stretching her front paws out with a yawn as she arched her back.

"Ursus, they call me Ursus these days. It's a pleasure to meet you miss?.." Ursus looks to her as he seeks her name. Muttering a few sounds under his breath as the sky's furry subsides, it's unclear if theres a connection, but what is clear is he smiles as it fades into being nothing more than an overcast day.
"Eagle,...Nice to meet you" She smiled greatly after they have had a moment to get antiquated with one another, her tail began to wag instead of sway of several moments. She followed his gaze towards the sky that had now stopped its downpour, her ears pricked up as she realized this. She hummed to herself as she could finally dry her pelt without fear that her attempts would be no use moments later. She felt her stomach grumble and tie knotted inside her, it made a rumbling noise. "You were saying something about food earlier" She smiled embarrassingly.

Ursus chuckles as he gestures with his head for her to follow. "Indeed I did, and I meant it. Come. My lands I have kept safe, as did my predecessor." Ursus beings to head them onwards towards the Northern Mountains where most wont dare go any longer. "As we walk, I wish to bring a caution to you. Don't go speaking of the things you saw, unless asked. I wouldn't have you lie. But... Most don't know of these things you've seen, including many in my pack. I wish not to set the seeds of fear. That would only make things worse for us. Especially since I may be wrong." As they enter the lands of snow, Ursus brushes his tail along past him, brushing snow into his trail.
She follows him quietly, nodding when he tells her this but does not ask questions. She spends most of her time with her eyes glancing everywhere, trying to engrave everything she sees to take it to memory if she needs it later. Her paws make a crunch every time one lands on top of the snow, breaking through the crust on the top, then for her paw to fall a couple of inches through the soft -inner part. Her tail sways behind her as the walk on wards, trying to ignore her stomach gnawing at her. "So, what are you exactly?" She inhaled through her teeth as she didn't mean for it to sound rude at all. "Sorry, I didn't mean it like that" She picks up her pace and lowers her head in embarrassment.

Ursus takes no offense at all, but rather laughs heartily and gives her a smile. "I was wondering when some one would actually work up the nerve to ask. Don't worry, you haven't offended me. I was a normal grey wolf once. That was before I came here, to Frosa, our world. Upon my finding my ancestral home, a mantel of responsibility was thrust upon me. Changing me. With it, the...Odd features you see that I now have. Some would call me a Warg. With the changes came power of course, and the task of keeping the area I reside over safe. I lost my.... Individuality for a lack of a better way of saying it. I did not notice at first but apparently I have forgotten bits and pieces of who I was, in exchange for old memories and knowledge I wouldn't have otherwise." As they enter the Frost Fallen Meadow's, the cries of Elk can be heard. "So what will it be? Want some Elk or would you rather have something else?" Ursus has stopped the pair behind a set of bushes and looks to her inquisitively, eyebrow arched.
