Lore: canine illness

Being stuck in a walled city did not deterred those who seek power. These...labcoats...they stole dogs off the streets and off peoples porches. Collared or not. It didnt matter to the labcoats. They wanted to control the remaining populous, and what better to control than with fear. So they took the dogs and tried to....create some sort of virus that would allow control of the canine. They used strands of rabies, and other viruses that I know not the name of. Then it mutated. 3 dogs were set to be the experiment. All 3 were injected with the new mutation. One died nearly instantly. The second remained stable, seemingly unaffected by the new virus. And the other....the last one....well...it worked. They created an aggregate that raises the aggression level and pain tolerance to unreasonably high level. But they couldnt control it. It got loose, killing the labcoats and infecting other canines. A fire broke out, setting both innocent and infected out into the city.

I lost my pups. I lost my home and family. The handful I had befriended, comforted, while trapped in small metal cages....i never saw or heard of them again...
