Irina growls threateningly as she kept leading Starburst to the open doorway. A warning not to get close. She is too old to be playing childish shenanigans. Especially when her and Star are in danger of catching whatever disease is quickly being spread in these parts.
She pokes her head out in the hall and looks left, then right. Her tail wags ever so slightly when she spots the stairs leading down.

Starburst quickly follows her, looking up curiously upon hearing the voice while still following Irina.

Once Starburst exits the room, Irina dismissed the illusion. Revealing its tru form of a death hole as they got to the stairwell at the end of the hall. Looks safe enough. She walks down to the landing first and checks the corner. It's clear. She beckons for Starburst to follow down the last two flights, where the exit to the outside world is blocked by wood. Irina stands her forepaws on it. Shes not strong enough.
"Kreig! Kreig can you hear me!?" She barks.

Kreigs ears perk as Irina beckons for him. Barreling towards the source of distress he calls out. “Irina! Is that you!? Is there trouble?” Not being sure what to expect, Kreigs adrenaline skyrockets as he hears his heart pounding in his ears.

Irina's barking lead Kreig to a doorway that was blocked off by nailed on pieces of plywood. A gap between two wood pieces has a small bit of Irina's black nose poking through. "Kreig!" The nose moves and is replaced by a green eye. "We can't get out. I'm not strong enough to break through."

Kreig's ears twitch in annoyance as he hears words that would misguide him. Upon finding Irina Kreig sighs in relief that the situation isn't more dire. Kreig begins to carefully inspect it, getting his face right up on the boards to ensure he's seeing the details properly. (What side are the nails on? If he pushes will it go in or does he need to pull the boards?)

(The nails are in his side.)
Irina backs up and with the room she was giving, charged at the wood blocking the exit. She bounces off the plywood wall. It bows a little bit but not much as shes thrown back to the floor with a "omf".
She shakes herself and rises back to her paws. "That hurt."

Kreig whines and paws at the boards. “H-hang on! Don’t do anything too brash just yet!” After swearing to himself a few choice words, he digs his fangs into the boards edge and begins to yank on it. (I’ll leave it to you to decide what gets the obstacle removed as it’s of your creation.)

As Kreig yanks on pieces of plywood, some of it comes off, and some of it doesn't. it appears that the doorway had been boarded up recently. To keep something in...but what? The hole that Kreig had made so far was enough for Irina to push some of her narrow head through. She tries to help him by pushing and slamming against the boards. More pieces start to break.

Kreig braces against the wall with his paws and pushes off it whilst pulling with all his might at anything he can grasp. "The hell are these these up for anyways?!" Kreig growls around the plywood.

Starburst stares as they struggle, letting out an odd sounding whimper. She makes her way over to Irina and tries to help move the boards in any way.

With all three dogs pushing, clawing, and tearing at the plywood, they managed to make a hole big enough for Starburst to push through. Scuffling noises and something falling over down the hall alerts Irina. Something did not feel right. She grabs Starburst scruff and tries pushes her out the hole as the noises began creeping closer.

As Starburst gets pushed through the hole she turns back and listens to the sound. She frantically yanks at the boards from the other side, trying to help Irina out.
