The moon was barely more than a sliver, allowing for the stars to shine brightly above in twinkling glamor. It is a chilly winter night with wispy clouds that barely caught the light. Mai's eyes met the sky in an air of dismay, for no matter how many times she gazes at the stars, they never fail to entrance her.
Mai blinked and stood up suddenly. Did she just hear something, or, someone nearby?!

As the winter sky shimmers and shines above Ursus makes the trek past the soft snows of his home, through the hard of the mountains stone and into the desert. Ursus casts his gaze around as he once more admires the almost alien landscape that he is now encompassed by. "You would never be home to me but... You are a very beautiful land in your own way. Thank you for housing my friend." Ursus mutter's to the sky and sands.

her green-brown gaze looked about, scanning her surroundings. She saw nothing but glints of shadows as the breeze swayed the grass. She sighed and laid back down putting her head on her paws and wrapping her tail around her legs.

Aelin yawned as she padded along behind Ursus. She hated the desert, the sand making her thick solid white coat stick out like a sore thumb. A sore, sweaty thumb. However, with Ursus determined on dying all the time, Aelin wasn't about to let him go out into the desert alone.

Upon Aelin's yawn, Ursus turns back and nuzzles her I'm sorry, I know its late but if we are to come here at all it should be at night. The sun here is not kind to either of us. Thank you for coming along with me despite it all. It'll be good to have Mai finally meet you too. Ursus rests his head on his mate for a moment, truly grateful she's there and that shes well despite the recent hardships.

Ursus snorts and rolls his eyes Yeah we can't have that now can we, you are spicy enough as it is~ Ursus teases as he gently waps her hind quarters with his tail.

Aelin returns his eye roll with one of her own as she shakes her head, picking up her pace slightly. She was really hoping to get to where they were going quickly. She really didn't like the desert.

Ezrah had awoken from a rather unpleasant dream and ventured outside his den for some crisp night desert air. He smells the air as he stretches his long legs. "Mai?" He calls out soft enough that he wouldn't wake the others asleep.

she lifted her head and turned her sleepy gaze towards Ezrah's voice. "I'm just keeping guard tonight, that's all," she said with hints of lonely enchantment lacing her voice. She had an uneasy feeling about how the moon glinted grass swayed and the breeze picked up the dust, sending it into the air like a dry mist. She felt like it was all to calm, to perfect for the time of night.

Sirhaan trotted not too far behind Ursus and Aelin. She had been unable to sleep since the death of one she loved. Not trying to be stealthy, just enjoying their surroundings.

Aelin, noticing her friend lagging behind, slowed her pace until she was walking beside her. She gives the darker wolf a comforting nuzzle. “Everything alright?” She asks softly, head tilted.

Ursus watches as his mate leaves his side and goes back to join Sirhaan. Ursus sighs as he is consumed with the sensation of being conflicted. Maybe its best to give the two some time alone. Ursus tells himself as he carefully gides them through the sands towards Mai's den.

Fennex and his son had fallen behind but are in no rush to catch up. They are enjoying the beautiful view of the desert landscape and the small lizards and other scarce wildlife they manage to spot.
