Meeting Jackie/A Clan Is Born/Meeting Ursus

Ursüs tilts his head and thinks to himself a moment before slowly crawling out and stretching. “I see. Probably all the more reason you shouldn’t be alone out here, especially if this place isn’t within that comfort zone of yours. I’m heading to the dens now. You’re welcome to tag along if you wish.” He then turns and waits for her reaction.

Ursüs silently goes back to facing East and heads to the hills. “I know a passage through the hills but we WILL have to go up a mountain a ways. The good news is it’s just one mountain an there’s water and dens on the other side. If you’re still hungry we will have to search for more food. Now with all that said, where are you from, silent one? Where is that comfort zone of yours?”

"Darker you say?... And gone? A cave? Or maybe not just a literal darkness perhaps? Either way, you should like this area just fine." AS they approach the base of the hills, he stops and turns to Jackie. "From here on out until we get into the den area, be on guard. If you see shadows moving or hear source-less whispers, let me know. There's a llloooooot of angry dead still here. It's worst at the new and full moons."

"Right.... I'm sorry to say but that describes a lot of places so if you're lost we will have to figure more out. Are you gunna be able to defend yourself if need be?"

Thunder and lightening burst overhead as Ursüs leads them on through the passage. Along the way the sounds of the crickets and owls fade into an eerie nothingness punctuated by persisting Umbra ravenously consuming all light within a moments notice. It is now where all that is visible (to most) are the ice cold eyes of Ursüs glowing in the dark, the only beacon of guidance or hope to be had here. They find the mountains without a hitch and they stop once more. “Ready?”

Ursüs silently leads them up the mountainous way. As they make their trek up the steep terrain and unforgiving topography, they find signs that other forms of life have recently visited the area. Including what appears to be Lycans. Ursus stops and points out the tracks with his paw and whispers “Lycans. With them you never know what you’ll get. Some are utterly consumed by their rage and are no more than simple beasts though are ferocious and deadly to those feeble of mind or body. If we stay here many a day we will have to look into if they have a den near by. Though I know there won’t be any where we are going.”

Ursüs picks up the pace as the cross the mountain, it would be too little too late, however. A booming trio of howls resonates through the damp night air and is accompanied by beastial roars and feral snarls, punctuated by pounding foot steps rushing ever closer. “This way!” Ursüs barks and he brings the pair to a rock face with a “U” eroded into it. “I don’t have any earth magic any more so get ready for a fight! If the three get focused on me and there’s no more near by, run. Run if you aren’t comfortable taking them on. One way or another I will be fine. Just keep heading the way we were going and when you get down the mountain you will see a broad pool and you will find a den near by.”
