Ursus goes to respond to Jackie but is cut off by three large Lycans erupting from the brush, they go to flank while snarling while the largest one stays in the center. That one appears to be the "alpha" as it roars while staring the pair down. Ursus Roars back, not at all wolf like and far deeper than one would expect, causing the two flanking ones to pin their ears and whine. Before they can retreat their alpha snaps at them and gets them riled up and facing the two once more. In that brief moment's distraction, Ursus breaths a cone of ice. Shards impale and ice crystallizes on fur. While it doesn't freeze them solid, they are left slowed down. The far left one closest to Ursus swipes and buries it's claws deep into the stone hard ground where Ursus was. In a puff of black smoke, Ursus vanishes in thin air, only to materialize in a position that flanks the beast. With a snarl he leaps and clenches the back of its neck in his maw as he takes it to the ground. Black smoke emits from the mouth of Ursus and the body of the Lycan slowly starts harden like stone and then fall away like sand and ash in the wind.

Jackie spins around as all this seems to happen so fast. She gives a demonic hiss to the “alpha” lycan and the fur on her back raises. She then turned her body side ways and arched her back like a cat. As the Lycan dove at her side she dipped her back down letting the Lycan plow its face into the ground. Jackie then opened her jaws more then they should most likely should and smashes them into the Lycans throat. Her teeth grow into large fangs as she tears her head back also tossing the Lycan back. As the best staggered loosing blood it snarled the best it could. Jackie gave a deeper hiss then before this time with her tongue lashing around with lightky glowing black liquid. The lycan slashed down at her falling in the process but it got her. As it’s claws slowly dragged down her back she gave a odd sound that was high pitch causing all the lycans and most likely any animals in the area to flatten their ears. She spon around quickly making the claws go deeper but then her tongue lashed out wrapping around the lyacns wrist. The lycan yelped trying to pull its paw away. She snarled with a slight hiss and pulled her tongue in along with the paw. Her fangs barely dug in before the lycan tore its paw away. Chemical burns sizzled where her tongue had been as the black liquid burned away. It took a bite at her leg and succeeded. It’s teeth sunk into her leg as she then made the odd sound again which was followed by extremely loud yelping. Jackie had drove her tongue into the lycans eye. She then proceeded to drive her tongue all through its skull making holes everywhere with the burning liquid. As she then slipped her tongue back into her mouth her eyes flashed becoming more so black. As the liquid slowly burned the lycans Head apart she looked to the last lashing her tail.

Blue magical energies erupt from the eyes of Ursüs when he sees his potential new friend struck. It is at this time he chucks the petrifying and decaying body of his Lycan at the remainder. While it’s distracted, he turns to Jackie and eyes her wounds, as he does some of the blue magical energies form upon the wounds and make them stop bleeding. The remaining Lycan recovers quicker than Ursüs anticipated and bashed him across the head with its massive paw, gouging out his left eye in the process. Ursüs growls as he bites down on the arm and thrashes his head. As he does, the arm freezes solid and shatters in his maw. The Lycan howls in pain and recoils and steps back, unsure as to what its next move should be.

Jackie takes no time in driving herself under the lycan. Once she’s behind it she leaps up onto its back quickly sinking her teeth in. The lycans desperately tries to grab her but she flattened herself against the lycans back. Jackie lifted once side of her head to let a tooth hole be accessible to her tongue. As she was quick this time and guided it strait to his heart. The pain was horrific but the death was fast. As the lycan finished its crying and fell fowards still twitching Jackie licked her jaws and looked over her mildly stained coat. She blinked a few times letting her eyes become normal and she then yawned retracting her teeth back to their normal size. Jackie hopped off the creatures back and sat down with her ears flat. She ran her tongue over the roof of her mouth getting most of the poison off as she then began to lick the blood from her coat. Jackie looked to her wounds briefly before they rapidly healed.

Ursüs turns slowly and faces Jackie as the blue emissions of his eyes fade, leaving a gaping hole that slowly fills with black smoke and fades to reveal a new eye. He then mumbles to himself “it’s a good thing it’s a new moon tonight...” Ursus clears his throat and says “I thank you for your help. Those are some nice tricks you have. You really aren’t from around here are you? Anyways. We will reach the dens soon, which is probably for the best.”

She nodded “No Problem. And no I come from the far far northeast mountains” Jackie spoke remembering more of how to speak. “The place where the sun never shines. The snow stained red with blood and lava seeping from any spot it can. Night holds the land captive along with any animal that enters. Right next to the forbidden forest kinda” She explained. “A long time ago many animals that had magic on their side formed a curse over that land trapping the demons or at least trying to. Lots of other animals were still inside and with this new part demon creatures arose. Only pure demons were trapped but they made sure to teach the half’s Life & Death Manipulation Magic before they left” Jackie said lowly as she twitched her ears looking around. “We need to keep moving” she growled softly.

“Interesting... I never traveled that far but I never heard anything of that either. That must have happened after I was trapped under the mountain. But yes you’re right, follow me please.” Roughly a silent half hour goes by before they crest over to a view of a body of water and an encapsulated land nestled within the mountains. One could feel the tingling of magical residues of old magic that has decayed. “My powers really have diminished haven’t they?...” Ursüs says quietly to himself. He then speaks up “Well this is the area. It is not protected any longer it would seem so we will want to find a new place here to take refuge. I will have to start clearing this place out once more. Make it homey and safe again.”

Jackie nodded to him and she looked behind them flattening her ears at the low sounds and eyes watching them from afar.

As they work their way down, Ursüs finds a den that is out of plain sight. A hole tucked amongst the roots of a great old pine that is partially covered in vegetation. It is here Ursüs suggests “Is our best bet for now. It’s relativly safe, and near water.” Ursus drags some cover over to help hide the hole and offers to take watch in case they were followed.
